Over the last 3 years, I have run my mentorship programme with one main aim... To help others in the industry with their own careers.
Just a snippet of the areas we cover in our monthly webinars:
The founder of Morehen Performance Ltd, I work as a performance nutritionist across elite sport and business.
I support elite individuals with evidence based nutrition strategies to support health, fuelling and recovery from performance
I currently work with Bristol Bears Rugby, England Rugby and with professional boxer Chris Billam-Smith. My work has allowed me to work with some of the best athletes in the world from World Champion Boxers, F1 drivers, international football and rugby players.
I consult with companies within the nutrition industry, blue chip businesses in the city and emerging technologies in food and nutrition.
I also run my own mentorship programme and I am passionate about helping other practitioners in our industry develop and progress in their own careers.
This was one of the reasons I wrote my first Amazon book: The Performance Nutritionist (seen here with Kyle Sinkler).
Having worked in professional sport full time, part time as a consultant and now also running my own business, I have experiences, lessons and knowledge which I enjoy sharing with other practitioners in the industry.
I look forward to working with you

"James’ mentorship programme has been invaluable to my career as a performance nutritionist.
I started working with James during my Masters in Applied Sport and Exercise Nutrition, where I assisted in nutrition support to one of his professional boxers. Whilst I gained incredible nutrition knowledge, my main takeaway from this experience was understanding how to communicate effectively and build rapport with athletes and their coaches. James does an excellent job at this, which I have now applied directly to my practice.
Beyond the practical experience, James has provided me with key contacts to connect with that I wouldn’t otherwise have access to. Recently, James has hosted meetings with the other individuals in his mentorship programme. These meetings have been great for me to learn from the different perspectives of many other performance nutritionists worldwide working in various sports.
With James’ support and reference, I have started a new role as a Football Sports Dietitian Fellow out here in the US for a Division I American Football team. I couldn’t recommend James and his mentorship programme high enough!

"About a year ago, I was lucky enough to start working with elite athletes preparing for the winter Olympics, and it was that change which led me to look for a mentor.
After speaking to several potential mentors, I decided to join James’ programme and I’m so glad I did.
James’ expertise at an elite level, across many different sports, has been absolutely invaluable. As well as helping with the nutrition strategy itself, every idea and suggestion is underpinned by his understanding of how that can realistically be applied in the field and on competition days, as well as the mentality of the coaches and athletes. It is that ability to not just translate the latest research into applied practise, but fully integrate the two, that makes his advice so valuable.
Since working with James, I have much more confidence in my own ability. I also have the reassurance that if I don’t know something, or am struggling to find an answer to a problem, James is only a phone call away. Having that support has demonstrably increased my confidence when talking to athletes, coaches and other stakeholders at all levels, which has undoubtedly made me a more effective practitioner.
I (we) have achieved amazing results with athletes that I previously would not have had the confidence to work with, and as a direct result of James’ input, I gained an offer to work even more closely with national level teams on an ongoing basis. We have also set long-term goals and having those to work towards, as well as knowing that we always have another call scheduled, has really helped me maintain focus, motivation and productivity!
To put it simply, joining James’ mentorship programme is the best business investment I have made since graduating as a nutritionist"

"Investing in the mentorship of Dr James Morehen has been pivotal to my success as a Performance Nutritionist.
James is generous with his guidance and resources, and I have found his insights truly invaluable - with a pragmatic approach that allows me to apply suggestions to my professional contexts with ease. I get so much from our calls and the mentorship programme continues to support me to overcome challenges I face in my professional working environments.
James is instrumental in building my confidence and I always look forward to implementing strategies we discuss.
I’m looking forward to working with James for the foreseeable future and am excited to continue my ambitious development strategy with his guidance".

"James and his mentorship program has been great and an absolute benefit to me after being on it these past few months.
Being someone at the very beginning of my career it was beneficial to be able to get advice from James and the rest of the group, it also allowed great opportunities to have discussions around different ideas.
In particular when moving to a different role James was the voice I needed to help take the risk and block out any self-doubt I had.
Massive thanks again and would recommend to anyone whether you’re currently studying in uni or working in sport!"
- Stephen Long (UK)
Call it luck or call it being proactive, but during my academic career at Liverpool John Moores University I made sure that I tapped into the minds, lessons, and experiences of the quality practitioners and researchers around me.
Now I want to provide my own lessons, experiences, advice and strategies to others in our industry to help them in their own careers.
Most universities do not provide a mentorship programme to their students and if they do, it may just be a staff member helping you through your academic studies.
My mentorship programme provides real world case studies, live situations at clubs, governing bodies and actual issues you will face when working in professional sport or within your own business. It also provides a sounding board for you to raise questions and have them worked through together.
Nutritionists, dietetics, applied practitioners, university students, business owners.
If you are a practitioner working in nutrition to some capacity and want to learn from others, this programme is for you.
If you want to expand your knowledge, learn from my mistakes, experiences and the knowledge I have accumulated from my own career to date, then reach out to me
Once a month we meet as a group online for 2 hours to work our way through a list of hot topics, common issues and topical areas in sports nutrition.
We are all part of a WhatsApp group which is live each day and provdies a platform for the group to ask questions, get advice and thoughts of others on a day to day basis as and when needed.
This also provides a nice support group to share key documents, links to content seen online and other key resources.
